The Hot Dates feature was created to assist with quick navigation on the Calendar.  You can create Hot Dates to quickly jump to that date range for reviewing or making updates on the Tape Chart.  Examples of "Hot Dates" are major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, high-peak demand season date range, Spring Break, and so on. 

To create a new Hot Date, when on the Tape Chart page, click on the Calendar icon, and then "Manage Hot Date" button.

You can then "Add a Date" and set up the name of that time period and enter the date range you want to view on the Tape Chart.  

Then on the Calendar icon, you will be able to click quickly to that timeframe.  A reminder to still press "GO" after you select which Hot Date you want to view.
